http://www.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/image_full_width/hash/Recovery%20Support.jpgOver the years, Team Howell has gotten to know @the_sparker (Shannon Parker) via Twitter. We recently got the opportunity to meet her “IRL” at Memphis in May this past Saturday, May 20. Little did any of us know that later that same evening, a terrible incident would occur.

According to her Facebook support group, “Shannon and her friend Kat Solaas were involved in a hit-and-run at Cooper and Oliver while walking back to their car just after midnight on Sunday May 20th. Watch the news coverage here. Shannon’s sister Greer told us Shannon pushed Kat out of the way and was run completely over by a Blue Ford Expedition, while Kat got clipped in the leg, which was broken at the ankle. Shannon suffered a great deal of banging up, including fractures to her pelvis, hands and feet, but was conscious on the scene and in the ICU at The Med.” Shannon is on a long road to recovery: her pelvis is broken in three places, she has a spinal fracture, severe road rash on most of her body, and an internal hematoma bleed. Doctors say that she will be in a wheelchair for three to six months after the incident.

Because Shannon has been looking for work in PR/marketing/communications, she has no health insurance so she needs our help on many levels. Know of an open position that might be a good fit? She aims to advance career in Marketing Management or Key Account Management while utilizing experiences in integrated marketing strategy development, customer relationship management, website marketing/consulting and project management. Shannon is seeking opportunity where her strong planning and excellent interpersonal skills will be an asset. Email info@howell-marketing.com.

Team Howell is donating $1,000 to “spark” Shannon’s cause and is encouraging everyone to make contributions as well. Whatever you are able to give to this selfless hero can help.
